At the end of September, the employees of Romasta Group participated in commercial/ heavy-duty vehicle and vehicle system exhibition held in Hannover.
The BPW Group, a prominent manufacturer of axles that our Company is a member of, prepared an impressive presentation of the exhibition. The BPW Group showed its innovative approach to both the products manufactured today and to future endeavors. The exhibition was an excellent choice for introducing the new Eco Plus hub system which combines the best features of previous generation of hub system modifications and an improved axle girder structure. An interesting novel solution of drum brake shoe mechanism is geared to replace the camshaft one. However, the biggest attraction of the exhibition was a brand-new product – a trailer axle with a single body made of aluminum and carbon fiber. New technological solutions enable making tri-axle semi-trailers lighter up to 500 kg.
The BPW Group has also taken on an entirely new direction in the form of telematic systems installed into vehicles (trailers or semi-trailers). The telematic systems help to record temperature, weight and other security data when carrying goods from the loading point to the final client. This system also enables full tracking of a loaded vehicle, independent where it is being towed by a tractor unit or carried by another vehicle (e.g. loaded on a railway platform). Telematics allows monitoring cargo temperature, remaining fuel and the safety of the cargo by watching out for any break-in attempts. The system optimizes the loading of the vehicle and weight distribution in respect to the cargo and axle load.
The best impressions among vehicle manufacturers were left by DAIMLER exhibition, where the new Actros tractor unit, commercial Vito, multi-functional Unimog and a conceptual future tractor unit were introduced.
MAN manufacturers and their presentation of the new TGX D38 also had their spotlight. The biggest surprise came from HYUNDAI manufacturers who introduced their XCIENT tractor unit. Its technical specification will be revealed later but no one can deny that the design is superb.
We were also glad to note the exhibition of our fellow countrymen Patikima Linija UAB which engage in truck trailer manufacture in Kaunas. During the ten years of its operations, the company has achieved amazing standards of quality. Most of the guests of the exhibition could not hide their surprise at the level of trailer functionality and their perfect structure. The trailer testing runs were displayed on a screen. It is, however, no coincidence that the products of this company are certified internationally as it uses BPW axles exclusively in the manufacture of their trailers.
The experiences and innovations we witnessed at the exhibition inspire us to further raise our own level of quality and innovation and to apply the acquired knowledge in our daily lives. We hope to meet once again at the next Hannover exhibition Hannover in September 2016.
